Programs and Services
Ad Astra Institute
offers a dual program of policy research and education about economic
and social problems in Kansas and the impact of specific policies -
current and proposed - on individuals and families who live here.
AAI's purpose is
to:
- Generate professional
research designed to fill gaps in understanding about Kansas issues
- Conduct policy
analysis to define the issues in major policy debates
- Communicate our
findings to policy makers, opinion leaders, the media and Kansas residents,
and
- Provide a forum
for citizens to develop practical, progressive policy solutions for
Kansas.
We achieve our purpose
through two tracks: Research and Education
Research
- Producing professional,
credible research on timely issues in Kansas
- Conducting nonpartisan
and research-based policy analysis
Education
- Posting our findings
and those of select outside experts on our website < http://AdAstraInstitute.org
> and in hard copy
- Speaking to organizations,
legislators and other interested groups
- Advising groups
and individuals on how to use and effectively convey the research,
and
- Convening seminars
and workshops with other grassroots organizations to effective positive
change in our State
